What is the 12 tones method? How does this differ from a 4-season approach to color analysis?
Kimberly is pleased to offer an advanced 12 season approach to personal color analysis. This color analysis system is based on the science of natural color harmony, accurate interpretation of the Munsell color system, full-spectrum light theory, human physiology and color psychology to discover your natural color palette. My training with True Colour International (TCI) Certified Instructor and Analyst Rebecca Reid included completion of in person TCI 12-Tone method training, TCI 12-Tone method equipment standards training, and post-training experience and competency review. I was certified by Amelia Butler, Certified Sci/Art Instructor and Owner of True Colour International.
Colors visually interact in all kinds of ways with our skinβs undertones. Harmonizing colors will enhance an individuals features and smooth the complexion, while colors in dis-harmony might make a person appear ill, dull, aged, or tired.
A 4-season color approach focuses on whether one is warm or cool. In 4-season analysis a person must fit into four palettes: Summer or Winter (cool with blue undertones), or Autumn or Spring (warm with yellow undertones).
However, the majority of people actually have NEUTRAL undertones! That is, they are not purely warm or purely cool, but are either cool/neutral or warm/neutral. These people either have mostly blue with a touch of yellow or mostly yellow with a touch of blue in their undertones. Neutral undertones need harmonizing colors that are also neutral in the same way. The 4 season approach does not account for the neutral undertones. The TCI method has 12 seasons, 8 of which are neutral!
I focus on finding your hue, value, and chroma through in-personal analysis.
Hue: Are you warm (yellow undertones), cool (blue undertones), or neutral (a mix of yellow and blue undertones)?
Value: Do you need light colors, dark colors, or something in between?
Chroma: Are intense and bright colors harmonious with your coloring, or do you need colors that are softer?
I chose to be certified in the 12-season method because I believe it offers the most individualized results for the client.
